Eating out close to the house is easy with several restaurants right outside the front gate and several more across the bridge on Ladys Island. The first five below are walking distance to a 5 minute drive from the house.
Seaside Bar & Grill has quickly become our favorite place on Wednesday nights...wing and shrimp night! Their wings are great, with many options and sauces and the shrimp is made your way (grilled, boiled, fried, blackened) by the half-pound or pound, There is usually music on the patio and the staff feel like family because they are! But don't just consider it on Wednesdays, they partner with local fishermen and farmers to create amazing locally sourced dishes everyday they are open. We usually eat here more than any other place on the island because the food is as consistently great as the service.

Another of our favorite places for a casual meal or drink and its literally right outside the gate. JCT is a great place to get steamed oysters, shrimp and other local favorites. Down-home bar and grill offering seafood & comfort food plus TVs tuned to sports & a patio.

Boujee Bowls is known for its wide range of over-the-top and ‘boujee,’ smoothie and açaí bowls. Don't knock it til you try it...Chris is a meat and taters guy and he really likes these for lunch or a snack. His favorite is the ‘Rocky Ro-Day-Oh’ bowl, which is loaded with granola, banana, strawberries, blueberries, peanut butter, Nutella, marshmallows, and almonds. Beyond bowls, Boujee serves coffee and smoothies. Its also located less than 1 minute from the house just outside the gate.

If food is your thing, you are in the right place. The local restaurants in Beaufort are amazing; a true foodie paradise. And better yet, you are only a 15-minute, scenic drive away.
Tabbed as an Urban Seafood Grill, we love the hip atmosphere and the great chef-prepared food. The Sushi is fantastic as are the low-country-based entrees and apps. We suggest you make a reservation.
802 Bay St. ・ (843) 379-3474.
Absolutely the best place to have a drink in Beaufort. From the Tequila and habenero based Purgatory to the gin and cucumber based London Calling, the combinations are amazing and the "properly dressed" bartenders are a joy to watch. The food is also fantastic, and the menu changes often. If you are foodie, this is a can't miss, but you'll need a reservation unless you sit at the bar.

They call it southern cuisine with a world-wide flair. We call it yummy. The soft-shell crab is amazing when its in season. This is another one that we suggest reservations in advance.

This is a great craft beer and wine bar with a fantastic selection of eclectic tacos that can be ordered a la carte. From the Mac and Cheese chicken taco to the Down South Gullah taco, this is a comfortable place to have a snack, lunch or super casual dinner.

Don't let the location fool you, this is a locally owned treat! They have the best sushi on the Island and their daily specials are always great. Lunch is a great time to try this hidden gem.
This is our favorite place to eat breakfast if we are in Beaufort and want a good ol fashioned breakfast. Nothing fancy, except the great food and great service. You'll see lots of regulars in here, so you know its consistently good. and at 8am everyone stands for the Pledge of Allegiance. They also serve lunch.
OK, just to set the record straight, we live in what has become known as Beer City USA with the eastcoast home of Sierra Nevada, Oskar Blues, New Belgium and over 50 other local breweries, but we make sure to visit Shellring in Port Royal on every visit. The beer is really good but the atmosphere is pure low-country awesome. They also have a full-time food truck serving fantastic street fare. As an asside, their are better options than the seafood restaurant next door, although their fried seafood is just fine.
If you’re looking for a good ole southern fried seafood place, Dockside in Beaufort is a good option. Reservations aren’t needed but it can get crowded during the dinner rush. Looking from the front, you won’t notice the creek side views you can get from a table inside.
