First of all, make sure you pronounce it correctly! The SC Beaufort is pronounced like you are saying beautiful. The North Carolina town is pronounced like "bow"fort. Historic Beaufort has been the home to many cultures over the years...originally native americans, then French Huguenots, Spanish, Pirates, English settlers, Gullah Geechee, and more. A fun fact, Beafort was once a state capitol, but not of South Carolina...it was actually the capitol of Spanish Florida. From amazing history, to southern culture to fantastic cuisine, a day or evening in Beaufort is a "can't miss" for many 32 Harbor Drive visitors.
